Chimney Cleaning and Repair Services
Standard Oil recently added Chimney cleaning and repair services to its line of heating services that it provides its customers.
“Chimney maintenance and repair is a logical extension of the services we provide our customers. The chimney is an integral part of the heating system. Without a well functioning chimney, the heating system will not operate or safely or efficiently”, mentions Greg Gilbertson, service manager of Standard Oil.
An improperly maintained chimney can be dangerous, resulting in fires, carbon monoxide poisoning, soot problems, short cycling, and premature equipment failure. In addition, since the chimney is hard for the homeowner to inspect, many homeowners fall victim to chimney scams where unnecessary or incompetent repairs are made. Aheating flue should be cleaned and inspected every 3-5 years. Afireplace flue should be cleaned and inspected after burning 2-4 cords of firewood.
